REGULARS

mikeMike Blair
Mike brings you important local travel and weather updates amidst a selection of classic songs, from 8am every weekday morning. He’s joined every Monday by our Agony Aunt, Helen Lambertini and every Thursday morning he has a special guest discussing local news.  You can also hear Mike presenting Old Jukeboxes of Rothesay every Sunday afternoon between 3pm-5pm.


Bobby Wilson
Each weekday lunch-time from 12pm you’re invited to sample the very best in pop history from the master craftsman himself, Bobby Wilson. Cheeky banter and unlikely links are the stock in trade of this jack of all trades.


Ed Clark
For three hours – between 6pm-9pm, five days a week, Sunday-Thursday – tune-in to hear a compilation of Ed’s choice of his favorite American Old Time Radio Shows including Westerns, Detectives, Mysteries, Comics, Musicians, Suspense, Horror, and Radio Plays. News and Advertising from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s; America’s Golden Age of Radio.  Highlighting exactly the kind of different listening experience that you get on a good community radio station.



MONDAY

GrahamGraham Leonard
Every Monday between 2pm and 4pm, Graham whips out his bulging sack of CDs and gets cracking into the classic songs of the 80s. You’re bound to be surprised by how many you like!


Tommy Hunter
Every second Monday, between 3pm-5pm, Tommy takes a look at the less well-known album tracks by bands, of whom you’ll have heard their big hit singles, but know little of the rest of their back catalogue.


Jack Monaghan
Every alternating Monday, between 4pm-5pm, Jack takes you on a musical journey from the modern day right back to the 70s with a wide-ranging selection of tunes belying his youth.


TUESDAY
RhonaRhona MacQueen
Every Tuesday between 2pm and 3pm, Rhona MacQueen delves into the past with a look back at some classic songs by guitar bands of the 90s. You’ll be surprised by how many you remember!

Big Man Billy
A big mixed bag of tunes, from rock to soul and back again, from Big Man Billy every Tuesday, for two hours, from 3pm.  How’s yer Tuesday?

GreigGreig Aird (is on study leave for a wee while)
Greig brings you the latest chart hits with a twist. Some random tunes are thrown into the mix and you can’t help but enjoy it all. Tuesday 5pm-6pm is when you’re most likely to hear Greig and also occasionally on a Saturday between 5pm-6pm.


WEDNESDAY
marcusMarcus Trapp
Every Wednesday between 2pm and 3pm, Marcus takes you through a field of cover versions and acoustic sensations, with some classic songs by bands you’re sure to know and some you’ll be discovering for the very first time

RobertRobert Maitland
Robert’s is the show to tune into if you’re into heavy rock and prog. From the late-60s to the early 80s, let this man take you by the hand and lead you to the promised land – 3pm-5pm every Wednesday.


Alan and NickAlan & Nick
Go Home with Alan & Nick is the most controversial show on Bute FM. Tune in for competitions, Rothesay Rumours and outrageous banter each Wednesday between 5pm-6pm.


THURSDAY
Bob Sutherland
Every Thursday between 1pm and 3pm, Bob Sutherland brings you a mixture of oldies and newies music-wise plus some light-hearted banter with the notables from our community


Hillbilly Bob
Hillbilly Bob brings you a wide range of country music from all corners of the US and delivers them up to you for your delectation in the late afternoon between 3pm-5pm every Thursday.



Meghan Bagan
Between 5pm-6pm every Thursday evening is where you’ll find Meghan Bagan, bringing you her favourite songs from the modern era some of which we guarantee you’ve never heard before.


FRIDAY
Iain Quinn
Iain resides in the Friday mid-morning slot with a most fascinating talk-based programme about the Clyde steamers of old. Tune in at 10:30am on a Friday and reminisce about the seafaring of yore with this engaging speaker.


Angela Haggerty
Angela hosts our weekly discussion programme ‘Have Your Say’, in which we talk about the topics, both locally and nationally, that are of the most importance to our community. Contributions are always welcome, be it by phone, e-mail or website interaction, as it’s your opinions that count. Listen in every Friday between 2pm-3pm


Robin Chandler
Every Friday between 3pm and 4pm, Robin delves into the past with a look back at some classic songs by guitar bands of the 70s and 80s. You’ll be surprised by how many you remember!


Young Cameron
Friday afternoon between 4pm-5pm is where you’ll find Cameron doing his thing live on-air, with a selection of hits that might surprise you given his age. Also on the menu will be bits and pieces from Rothesay Academy’s own radio station, sourced by Cameron himself.


Clara Thomson
Friday afternoon between 5pm-6pm is where you’ll find Clara introducing a selection of up-to-date tunes and chat, as seen through the eyes of a young island resident.


Shelly Bobbins
A two hour spectacular from one of our most exuberant presenters, Shelly Bobbins’ Split Ends is the perfect way to start your weekend and you’ll catch her between 6pm-8pm on a Friday night.


SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Craig_1Craig Borland
Easing us into the weekend, with the Saturday morning breakfast show from 8am-10am, is Craig Borland. Taking off his Buteman hat and letting loose in the studio: it’s a wonder to behold.


StuStu Knapper
Stu is a very busy man over the weekend, starting with “the most explosive show on Bute FM” every Saturday from 10am to 1pm, where he plays a mixture of musical gems from the 70s right up the present day. Sunday morning ‘twixt 10am and 12pm is where he displays his Best Bits too.


Alan Donald
Also known as ‘The Entertainer’, Alan brings you a smorgasbord of smash hits from the annals of time, when he was a young man, right up to the recent day. “Some you’ll know, some you don’t, some you’ll like and some you won’t.” Tune in on Saturday from 1-3pm.  You’ll also find him in the Drivetime slot on a Monday from 5pm-6pm every alternate Monday.


HelenHelen Lambertini
Tune in to Helen to hear your favourite Motown tracks which will get you up and dancing on a Saturday afternoon between 3pm-5pm.  Helen also brings you the Problem Page each Monday morning between 10:30am-12pm.


Peter Wallace
Kicking off our Sunday schedule, at 8am, is where you’ll find the venerable Peter Wallace with his perfectly themed two hour show.


John & Chris
The Soul Selection comes to you courtesy of the inseperable duo of John McGuigan and Chris Cobain. Start your Sunday afternoon every 12pm-2pm with the lads’ inimitable stylings.


Peter Hamilton
Continue your Sunday afternoon between 2pm-3pm in the steady hands of Peter Hamilton as he takes you on a wondeful journey through his world of music.


Ada Fisher
Rounding off our weekend broadcasting between 5pm-6pm on a Sunday is Ada Fisher who delights and entertains all in her own relaxing and peaceful way.
