The Bute FM Lottery
Bute FM operates our own weekly lottery which enables us to raise funds towards the running costs of your community radio station service.
Your support will ensure that we can stay on-air and will also help us to train both adult and school pupil volunteers in broadcasting skills and multimedia production techniques.
Our not-for-profit ethos means that we will be in a position to make your money go further, by assisting community groups, clubs and charities based on the island, therefore ensuring that all monies raised will stay on Bute!
How can I play?
Download the entry form on our website, print it off, complete the form and send it to us at – Bute FM, Top Floor Flat, 7 Castle Street, Rothesay, Isle of Bute, PA20 9HA.
How much does it cost?
Each number costs £1 a week.
I don’t want to have a standing order, can I pay another way?
Yes, all you have to do is send us a cheque – made out to Bute FM – or a postal order. We do ask for a minimum of £52 if paying by cheque though.
I don’t have a bank account, can I still play?
Yes, with a postal order.
How many numbers can I have?
You can have as many numbers as you want – there is no limit. It is simply £1 per number.
Can I choose my own numbers?
No, it doesn’t work like that. Each entry we receive is automatically given the next number in line and you keep that number for every draw.
How will I know if I’ve won?
The draw will be broadcast live on Bute FM each Friday at 1:30pm when the lottery starts. The winner will be announced live on-air and notification will appear right afterwards on our website and social networking sites.
How is the draw made?
The range of numbered entries is entered into a random number generator (the ‘Random Integer’ programme from the website www.random.org) and the programme will pick one number at random, which will be that week’s winner.
How much do I get when I win?
For every number that is entered in the draw 50p goes towards the prize fund and 50p goes towards the station’s running costs. For example: 200 numbers entered would mean a winning prize of £100!
How quickly will I get the money?
A cheque will be ready for collection within 72 hours of the draw taking place.
I don’t live on Bute, can I still play?
Yes,
You can sign up with a standing order set up at your bank. Do this by clicking here and downloading our entry form. Print it, post it and we’ll pass it onto your bank after we have assigned you a weekly draw number.
We’ve saved the entry form as a PDF file. In case you need software to read PDF files, download it free from Adobe - here.
